PROCOM SYSTEM at RESTAURARÍOS 2026

PROCOM SYSTEM took part in RESTAURARÍOS 2026 – the Iberian River Restoration Conference, held in Soria, Spain. The event brought together experts, representatives of public administrations, researchers, organisations and companies involved in river restoration, improving ecological continuity and protecting aquatic ecosystems.

During the conference, participants discussed the key challenges facing rivers in Europe, including climate change adaptation, flood risk management, restoration of natural river processes, improvement of river connectivity and effective measures for fish protection.

As part of the event, PROCOM SYSTEM delivered a presentation entitled “Long-Term Evaluation of NEPTUN Electric Barriers for Fish Protection During Upstream and Downstream Migration”. The presentation focused on the long-term evaluation of the effectiveness of the NEPTUN electric barrier system in protecting fish during upstream and downstream migration.

The presented experience showed how modern fish protection technologies can support the elimination of migration barriers, reduce the negative impact of hydrotechnical infrastructure and contribute to improving the ecological continuity of rivers. The NEPTUN system was presented as a solution supporting the safe guidance of fish and reducing the risk of fish entering hazardous areas, such as turbine channels or water intakes.

Participation in RESTAURARÍOS 2026 was an important opportunity for PROCOM SYSTEM to exchange knowledge, present many years of experience in fish protection and engage in discussions with the international community involved in river restoration, nature conservation and water resources management.

We would like to thank the organisers — CIREF, Confederación Hidrográfica del Duero and Wetlands International Europe — for the opportunity to participate in this event.
